Welcome to Our Lady of Lourdes! We are so excited to have you join our family and for many amazing, new adventures to begin. We know the current crisis will leave you feeling more anxious than normal about your child's milestone step to primary school. Please rest assured that the wellbeing of your child and all the children at this school is at the forefront of what we do. Unfortunately we cannot meet in person but this page includes a welcome video to the school, key information and further videos will be added explaining more about the transition into school. The information included on this page, plus additional bits of information, will be sent out to you in the coming weeks and will provide information such as your child's school house, uniform information, our transition plan (subject to change based on government advice) and lots of tips and tricks. If you are at all concerned or find the information provided doesn't answer a particular question, please do get in touch and ask to speak to Miss Gregory.
If you are happy for me to do so please can you email the school office with your child's name and nursery and state that you are happy for us to contact them. (email@example.com) Communication with nurseries is vital to ensure we are meeting the needs of your child and that we know as much as we can to help them settle in smoothly to Our Lady of Lourdes.
I cannot wait to meet you and your family when it is safe to do so. I hope you have a wonderful summer together, stay safe and we will see you in September!
Hi! My name is Miss Gregory and I am the Reception teacher at our Lady of Lourdes. I like to have lots of fun in school. I like to do lots of dancing, singing, exploring, painting and playing outside. We always do lots of new things and enjoy our learning being as practical as possible. We go on Bear Hunts, Gruffalo walks, create outdoor patterns and explore numbers in the great outdoors. We go to forest school and make woodland homes for the animals. We make wonderful things such as dream catchers, puppets and hats. We find out about things that interest us and always celebrate each other and all our achievements. I can't wait for us all to be together and start having lots of fun.
When you receive your school information packs in the post there will be a scrapbook in there. It would be great if you could make a scrapbook telling us all about you, what you like and don't like, your family and maybe some of your summer adventures. We put them in our book corner for you to share with your teachers and friends and it is something children in the school love to look back on. When our library is built we may even put them in there!
