Year 1 2026 - 2027

Welcome to the Year 1 Class Page!
Here you will find important information and updates about your children's learning this year.
Moving up from Reception to Year 1 is a big and sometimes scary jump, but we are very proud of how well the children are managing this transition at the start of the year.
Miss Cowley and Miss Hopewell
PE
PE is on Tuesdays and Wednesdays - Children should wear their PE kits into school.
Reading
The year 1 children have a phonics folder to take home each night with the new sound covered that day. Please support your child in reviewing the daily sound and reviewing the words with them. 5 minutes a day is plenty.
Please hear your child read their reading book 5 times a week and record this using class dojo. There are instructions on the school story on dojo about how to do this.
