Welcome to Term 6!

The children had a fantastic Wow day to start term 6. We visited The Wild Place and found out  all about mini-beasts and where they live. We were able to meet the new giraffes that have just arrived which will be an excellent insight into our class book this term- ‘Zeraffa Giraffa’. The children had great fun on the play equipment and the weather was kind to us all day! Thank you to all the helpers that were able to support the trip.

Thank you to everyone who donated money to ‘The Littlest Rescue’. The children had great fun doing the sponsored walk and loved the visit from Willow the hedgehog. We raised £43.28. Well done and thank you! We will be sending the donations this week.

All Y1 children will take part in a phonics screening test in June. Please see the video link below that explains what happens during the check.

The children enjoyed Term 5 Wow day. They discovered the new text for this term- ‘The Hodgeheg’ by Dick King-Smith, hidden in a box with a hedgehog. They have generated their own questions about what they would like to find out about hedgehogs. The children made their own clay hedgehogs complete with quills. We went on a walk in the school grounds to see if we could find suitable places where hedgehogs could live. Check out our slide show below!

The children are very excited about being the purple learner for the day as they now have their very own table complete with cloth and plant pot! What a treat! Well done purple learners, keep persevering, trying hard and challenging yourself.
