Ash Wednesday service - 26/02/20
We helped lead an Ash Wednesday service with Miss McLoughlin to mark the beginning of Lent. We reflected on how we should always try to be the very best version of ourselves during and beyond this liturgical season, and own up to the times when we are not. It is through this we receive eternal life with God, symbolised by the ashes marked on our foreheads in the shape of a cross.
Chaplaincy Team training - 26/11/19
Some of the team had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with chaplains from St Augustine's, St Paul's, Christ the King, St Mary's and Holy Family as we received training from Ann Fowler, helping us to think deeply and work practically to gain a better understanding of how to bring hope to others in this Year of Communion. We left inspired to make a difference back at school and in our local community.
Chaplaincy Commissioning - 13/11/20
It was a special day for us as we visited Clifton Cathedral, the mother Church of our Diocese, to be formally commissioned as part of the Our Lady of Lourdes Chaplaincy Team. Joined by hundreds of others, we made important promises (see below) and learnt about the importance of our role. We even received badges and a certificate each, which were presented to us back in school, where we again made our promises in front of the school community.
