As you know, our school continues to be committed to the ongoing recovery from the potentially damaging effects of the whole COVID experience on our children’s confidence, resilience and creativity, to mention a few. As a result, we are happy to be engaging with the University of West of England in an exciting new opportunity for all of our children – please read the letter below from UWE…
We are thrilled to announce that our school are joining the Children’s University scheme.
Children’s University (CU) works in partnership with schools to develop a love of learning in children. We do this by encouraging and celebrating participation in extra-curricular activities both in and out of school. The impact of these activities is proven to be positive which is why we’re committed to creating a level playing field of opportunity and opening access to children of all backgrounds. Children’s University operates across over 60 local authorities in Wales and England, and the Bristol & South Gloucestershire branch is led by UWE Bristol.
We had a launch assembly to tell the children all about Children’s University and how it will work for our school.
Each child has been given a Children’s University paper passport to log their learning and the children have also be given their own log in to Children’s University online.
If you have any questions please speak to your child’s teacher or email cu@uwe.ac.uk
Here is a list of codes for the activities you do in and out of school on a regular basis. If you have been on any wonderful adventures - such as a museum trip - send the details on the website and I will approve them as soon as I can. Any questions let me know.
